FLAME

Eyes of a Blue Dog Outtakes

"This is something else now. I'm warming up.' And she said it with her voice a little lukewarm and fleeting, as if she hadn't really said it, but as if she had written it on a piece of paper and had brought the paper close to the flame while I read: 'I'm warming,'" Eyes of A Blue Dog, G. Garcia-Marquez

Marquez inspires me when no one else does. It's been that way since 2006 when I read One Hundred Years of Solitude for the first time. Since then, I've read every novel, and short story he's written (numerous times). My favorites vary depending on my mood, but for some reason whenever winter comes along i inevitably think about Eyes of A Blue Dog.

It seemed fitting that i explore this short-story for my next photography project. This evening was dedicated to bringing Gabo's words to life. And while the above photos may not make it into the final product, i still really enjoy them.
